HotSpot Confidential is about two things, primarily:
- Hyperlocal experimentation. What kind of content and connectivity can be be mapped to a very small, real-world space, in a way that can be sustained?
This is a topic that has been floating over the Internet's horizon, just out of reach, for a long time.
Some current exploratory forays include EveryBlock and Placeblogger. HotSpot Confidential is just another hyperlocal search party.
- The elusive potential of the ebook, aka digital reading material. (And here comes another big, broad question...) How much more can you say in an "ebook format" (for lack of a better term) than in a traditional paper-and-ink bound book?
Like Question #1, above, this is not a solo search mission. Current exploratory undertakings include Print is Dead and O'Reilly's Tools of Change for Publishing.
